At Autumn House Williamsburg, a Cardinal Senior Living community, we’re looking for a dependable, energetic Dietary Aide who enjoys working with food, serving people, and being part of a team.

This is a hands-on role that blends food preparation, meal service, and kitchen support. You’ll help prepare meals, serve residents, keep the dining room and kitchen running smoothly, and make sure every meal feels welcoming and well cared for.

What You’ll Do

As a Dietary Aide, you’ll support the full dining experience from preparation through cleanup.

You’ll:

• Assist with food preparation according to recipes and culinary standards
• Help assemble meals and trays based on resident dietary needs
• Serve meals, beverages, and snacks to residents
• Assist residents during meal service when needed
• Set up and maintain dining and service areas
• Clear tables and transport dishes after meals
• Operate the dishwasher and wash pots, pans, dishes, and utensils
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean kitchen and dining surfaces
• Properly cover, label, date, and store food
• Restock preparation and service areas
• Transport food carts and nourishments throughout the community
• Assist with special events, catering, and holiday meals
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards
• Support the Executive Chef and culinary team wherever needed

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, and willing to support the entire dining operation.

You should be able to:

• Communicate effectively with residents and coworkers
• Remain active and on your feet throughout the shift
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed
• Bend, reach, stoop, and perform physical kitchen tasks
• Follow basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday

Previous experience in a restaurant, senior living community, healthcare setting, cafeteria, or commercial kitchen is preferred, but we’re willing to develop the right person.
