Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carrier Mills, IL. This part-time position plays an essential role in providing nutritious meals and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for our residents.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service. Our Dietary Aides work closely with the dietary team to assist with meal preparation, food service, sanitation, and daily kitchen operations while ensuring residents receive quality meals in a timely and professional manner.

• Position: Dietary Aide
• Employment Type: Part-Time
• Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
• Shift Options:
• Morning Shift: 5:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Day/Evening Shift: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Schedule: Approximately 4 days per pay period
• Availability: Must be available and willing to work both shifts as scheduled.
• Location: Carrier Mills, IL

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals are served accurately and in accordance with residents' individual dietary needs and restrictions.
• Set up and clean dining areas before and after meal service.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper sanitation procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, dining areas, and food preparation spaces.
• Assist with stocking, organizing, and rotating food supplies and kitchen inventory.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures.
• Work collaboratively with cooks, dietary management, and nursing staff to ensure residents receive meals in a timely manner.
• Assist with preparing snacks, beverages, and special dietary items as directed.
• Follow all infection prevention, food safety, and facility sanitation guidelines.
• Provide friendly, respectful, and professional service to residents.
• Report food service concerns, equipment issues, or supply shortages to dietary management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or facility leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, dietary services, or a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and dietary guidelines accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to providing quality service.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and respect when interacting with residents.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Must have availability for both the 5:00 AM–1:00 PM and 11:00 AM–7:00 PM shifts.
• Must be comfortable working approximately 4 days per pay period.
