Job Summary

Prepares and portions food for patients. Follows safe food handling practices and maintains sanitary work area. Provides service to patients, staff and guests in cafeteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Correctly and efficiently prepares and portions salads and desserts for patients, staff and others.
• Applies safe and sanitary food handling practices by following HACCP guidelines.
• Serves proper foods for all patients on regular or modified diets considering all population groups.
• Completes additional assignments as deemed necessary by supervisor.
• Keeps work area clean and sanitary; leaves work area clean at the end of the shift.
• Maintains salad bar and dessert area in cafeteria.
• Rings up purchases on the cash register and balances register at the end of each shift.
• Obeys safety rules and regulations.
• Controls food waste by careful estimation of amounts to prepare.
• Completes tasks in a calm and organized manner.

High school graduate or equivalent preferred
