Dietary Chef

Day shifts cover morning and midday meal production. You manage the cook line and coordinate with dietary aides to plate trays on schedule. The shift finishes after cleaning your station and restocking food prep areas.

Compensation, Schedule & Benefits

• Pay Rate: Starting at $16/hr, scaling upward with experience
• Schedule: 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM); Full-Time and PRN positions available

Responsibilities

• Cook scheduled meals according to standard facility recipes.
• Review resident diet tickets for proper portions and meal modifications.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment including convection ovens and steam tables.
• Record food holding temperatures and refrigeration logs throughout the shift.
• Work the line with dietary aides to assemble and send out meal trays.
• Clean and sanitize prep surfaces and cooking equipment after service.
• Restock kitchen storage areas following standard food rotation procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 1 year of food service experience (dietary department experience preferred)
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• Active Texas Food Handler Certification (facility can provide upon hire if needed)
• Must pass a standard criminal background check
• Must pass a drug screening
• Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
