Summary:

Responsible for answering telephone in the diet office and processing all changes in patient diet status. May assist patient with computerized menu selections.

Responsibilities:

• Answers telephone and communicates any diet status information requiring immediate reaction to the Food Service Supervisor.
• Performs office duties as per daily operational sequences outlined in the job routines.
• May help patients in making appropriate menu selections.
• Is responsible for maintaining high standards of departmental sanitation particularly in regard to sanitation in the diet office area.
• Communicates orders for patient service between nursing stations and Dietary Department. Is in charge of replenishing diet cards and diet instruction materials and re-ordering as necessary. In charge of putting instruction material together and in order.
