Dietary Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dietary Manager to lead our Dietary Services team in providing high-quality nutritional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will be organized, team-oriented, and dedicated to ensuring residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.

Position Summary

The Dietary Manager oversees all aspects of the dietary department, including meal service, staffing, food safety, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and resident satisfaction. This leadership role works closely with the interdisciplinary team to support resident health and quality of life through exceptional food service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily operations of the Dietary Department.
• Manage dietary staff scheduling, training, performance, and employee engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility regulations regarding food service and sanitation.
• Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to implement resident dietary plans and therapeutic diets.
• Oversee food purchasing, inventory management, and budget control.
• Monitor food preparation, meal presentation, and service quality.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to dietary services.
• Conduct departmental audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Address resident and family concerns regarding meals and dietary services.
• Participate in facility meetings, surveys, and quality assurance programs.

Qualifications

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, healthcare, or food service.
• Knowledge of dietary regulations, food safety standards, and therapeutic diets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with budgeting, inventory control, and staff development preferred.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
