Responsibilities

• Serve meals and beverages to residents or patients in accordance with their dietary requirements and preferences
• Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation under the guidance of culinary staff or dietary managers
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, kitchens, and food handling stations following food safety protocols
• Adhere to all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks
• Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and ensuring proper sanitation of all serving utensils and equipment
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and caregivers to accommodate special diets and assist with feeding residents or patients with limited mobility
• Follow all JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards for food safety, sanitation, and patient care

Qualifications

• Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
• Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and serving techniques
• Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric or hospital patients and ability to adhere strictly to prescribed diets
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle meal service schedules
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively while maintaining high standards of food handling and sanitation
• Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents or patients
• Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management
• Valid certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), food handling permits, or other relevant credentials are advantageous
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28.0 – 40.0 per week
