What they need
Why You'll Love Working at Family Nutrition Solutions
We're a growing, women-led functional nutrition practice in Wilmington, NC, serving the whole family: gut health, hormones, pediatrics, body image, GLP-1 use, and bariatric surgery. We're insurance-based, so patients can access the care they need.
Our patients come to us feeling dismissed and unheard. They stay because we give them clarity, empathy, and a plan they can actually follow. We take a weight-inclusive, non-diet approach with every patient, including those using GLP-1s or pre/post-bariatric surgery.
We're looking for an experienced dietitian who is energized by people, thrives in a collaborative environment, and genuinely loves helping patients feel confident about their health.
What Makes This Role Stand Out
- Impactful Work: Support patients through nutrition care that addresses root causes, not quick fixes, cookie-cutter protocols, or meal plans.
- Collaborative Environment: We problem-solve together and celebrate wins. You'll have a real voice here.
- A Clear Path to Earn More: Our performance-based salary tiers come with transparent raise criteria, so you always know what it takes to grow your pay.
- Career Growth: Paid continuing education in functional nutrition plus ongoing mentoring from our team.
- Flexibility & Balance: Semi-flexible hours and a hybrid schedule (2–3 days in our Wilmington office, the rest remote if desired).
- Room to Specialize: Develop expertise in gut health, hormone balance, autoimmune conditions, pediatrics, GLP-1 and bariatric nutrition, body image, and advanced lab interpretation. Each provider can "own" a specialty they love within the team.
Role Details
- Full time, W-2 employee
- Caseload of 24–30 visits per week
- 90-minute initial visits and 45–60-minute follow-ups
What You'll Do
- Build genuine relationships and trust with patients from the first visit using motivational interviewing and empathetic communication.
- Evaluate nutrition needs through diet, exercise, sleep, lifestyle, and functional lab assessments.
- Translate complex lab results into clear, plain-language explanations patients can act on.
- Set and prioritize realistic, stage-based goals so patients feel focused, not overwhelmed.
- Collaborate with our team to strengthen patient outcomes and care processes.
- Develop patient resources (handouts, recipes, educational content) that make recommendations easy to follow.
- Keep patient records current and complete in our EMR, including insurance documentation requirements.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Current RD or CNS with NC LDN/LN
- 2+ years of outpatient nutrition counseling, including work with complex or multi-factorial health concerns
- Comfort with EMR systems and digital patient resources
Strongly preferred:
- Experience with one or more of: pediatrics, GLP-1 or bariatric surgery, body image or disordered eating
- Experience with insurance-based practice
You'll Thrive Here If You're:
- People-oriented: You're energized by connecting with patients.
- A natural collaborator: You contribute ideas, welcome feedback, and make the team around you better.
- A clear communicator: You explain complex information in a way patients actually understand.
- Organized and reliable: You follow through on documentation, care plans, and patient communication.
- Analytically curious: You love digging into labs and lifestyle data to find the why behind a patient's struggles.
Pay & Benefits
- Starting pay $65,000 - $81,000 (depending on experience)
- Full time, W2 employee with 8 paid holidays plus PTO (6 days per year)
- Health insurance stipend ($300/mo)
- Paid continuing education
- Flexible schedule with partial remote work, if desired
- A supportive, growth-minded team that recognizes your contributions
