Job Title: Dietitian

Experience: 6 months -1 Year of Experience as Dietitian in a Healthcare Organisation.

Purpose of the Job

• The purpose of the job is to ensuring food quality control & implementation of standards as for safety & hygiene.

Qualification

Post-Graduation in Food & Nutrition (BSc/MSc)

Experience

6 months -1 Year of Experience as Dietitian in a Healthcare Organisation.

Job Description

· To oversee the food preparation.

· To plan patients diet and prepare ‘Diet Slips’ to be given to the kitchen.

· To prepare diet for ‘intravenous feeding’ or ‘tube feedings’.

· To ensure that good & hygienic food is served to the patients by asking specific questions during interaction with patients.

· To check food quality by eating food herself before being served to patients.

· To inspect every meal cooked before being served to patients.

· To maintain daily record of quality of food served.

· To keep a record of type of diets given to each patient.

· To verify about food allergies a patient may have.

· To respond quickly to a patient’s complaint cum suggestions.

· To provide relevant diet chart to each discharged patient.

· Should maintain good interpersonal relationship with patients/attendants.

· Any other work assigned from time to time.

Measures of Performance

1. Drawing up standard diet sheets, in consultation of Doctors.

2. Calculation of individual diet required for in –patients.

3. Dietary surveys as desired by medical staffs.

4. Visiting wards to advise patients regarding their diets and discuss dietetic problem with ward sister.

5. Compilation of weekly menus for patients.

Competencies and Skills

1. Knowledge of the diet

2. Communication Skills with Doctors & Staff Nurses
