What they need
Kia Ora,
At PwC, our purpose is clear: to build trust in society and solve important problems.
This is a place to keep growing. You’ll learn from the best, take on meaningful challenges, and make a lasting impact for our clients, our communities, and Aotearoa.
Ngā Kōrero mō tēnei tūranga / About the role
You will be joining PwC's Digital & Data Transformation consulting practice, based in either our Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland or Ōtautahi / Christchurch office, where you will partner with senior client executives to solve complex business challenges through AI, cloud and digital technologies.
As an Associate Director, you'll shape and deliver large-scale digital transformation programmes for some of New Zealand's leading organisations. Working closely with Partners and Directors, you'll provide strategic and technical leadership across client relationships, multidisciplinary delivery and business development, helping organisations unlock measurable value through enterprise AI, cloud, automation and emerging technologies.
Your day-to-day could include:
- Leading cloud, automation and enterprise AI engagements from problem discovery and process analysis through solution design, architecture, implementation and post-go-live support.
- Working with senior client stakeholders to understand business problems and processes, identify optimisation opportunities and translate them into practical technology solutions.
- Designing end-to-end solutions across automation, cloud and enterprise AI, including platforms such as Power Platform, Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
- Providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams, with sufficient technical depth to review solution designs, architecture and code, and challenge implementation decisions where required.
- Designing enterprise AI solutions that integrate AI into business processes, applications and workflows, including consideration of architecture, integration, security, operating cost and business value.
- Leading executive workshops, governance forums and multidisciplinary delivery teams to deliver high-quality client outcomes.
- Building trusted client relationships, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to proposals, account growth and practice development.
- Coaching and developing high-performing consulting and technology teams while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
- 8–12+ years' experience leading technology consulting, digital transformation or enterprise technology programmes within a consulting, advisory or large enterprise environment.
- You will have demonstrated experience translating complex business problems and process insights into technology-enabled solutions that are designed, implemented and successfully transitioned into operation.
- You'll ideally hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
We're looking for demonstrated capability across several of the following:
- Leading technology engagements across the full delivery lifecycle — from problem definition and discovery through solution design, architecture, implementation and post-go-live support.
- Analysing and optimising business processes, with experience using approaches such as BPMN 2.0, process mining or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Designing and delivering cloud and automation solutions using platforms such as Power Platform, Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Providing technical leadership to engineering teams, with enough software engineering knowledge to review solution architecture.
- Designing and delivering enterprise AI solutions embedded within business processes, applications or workflows.
- Understanding the architecture and economics of enterprise AI solutions, including integration patterns, model usage, security, scalability, operating costs and expected business benefits.
- Influencing senior stakeholders, facilitating executive workshops and participating confidently in governance forums and C-suite discussions.
- Building trusted client relationships, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to proposals, account development and practice growth.
- Leading, mentoring and developing high-performing multidisciplinary consulting and technology teams.
- A passion for emerging technologies and helping organisations responsibly adopt enterprise AI, automation and cloud capabilities to create measurable business value.
