At AWRI, our values guide everything we do:

About the role

Applications are invited for a Digital Communications Coordinator to join AWRI's Communications team.

Reporting to the Communication Manager, this role is responsible for driving AWRI's digital channels, social media presence and content delivery to increase awareness, engagement and participation across the Australian grape and wine industry.

You will lead the day-to-day management of AWRI's digital channels, including social media, websites, email marketing and digital campaigns. Working closely with researchers, technical specialists and internal stakeholders, you will translate complex scientific and industry information into engaging digital content that delivers measurable results.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced digital communications professional who enjoys creating high-quality content, using data and insights to drive engagement, and contributing to a purpose-driven organisation that supports one of Australia's most significant agricultural industries.

Principal accountabilities include:

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of AWRI's digital content and channels.
  • Manage AWRI's social media channels, including planning, content creation, publishing and community engagement.
  • Drive audience growth and increase engagement across digital platforms.
  • Create compelling content including social media posts, articles, digital campaigns, short-form video, graphics, webinars and advertisements.
  • Translate technical and scientific information into accessible, audience-focused content.
  • Manage and optimise AWRI websites, ensuring content remains current, engaging and SEO-friendly.
  • Develop and deliver email marketing and digital campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyse digital performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Communication Manager to implement AWRI's broader communications strategy.
  • Support the development of communications and campaign assets that maintain brand consistency across digital channels.
  • Stay current with emerging digital marketing trends, tools and best practices.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant qualification in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field.
  • Experience in digital marketing, communications, content marketing, social media or a similar role.
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering digital content and social media strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms including Meta and LinkedIn.
  • Experience using digital marketing and analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Ads, SEO platforms and CRM systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and audience insights to improve performance.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience creating digital, visual and multimedia content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar applications.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively across a multi-disciplinary organisation.

Why work with us?

  • Flexibility: 35-hour work week plus support for work-life balance.
  • Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Program for staff and families, subsidised group fitness sessions.
  • Perks: Free social club membership or Entertainment Book subscription.
  • Salary packaging: Increase your take-home pay as a not-for-profit employee.
  • Career growth: Opportunity to shape digital engagement for a nationally recognised research organisation.
  • Location: Beautiful Waite Campus with bushwalking trails, café facilities and free parking.
