We are looking for a Digital Content Editor with excellent English writing skills, a keen eye for news, and a passion for discovering and sharing stories that matter to Mysuru.

Job Description

The Digital Content Editor will be responsible for researching, curating, writing, editing, and publishing engaging content for the MasthMysore website and social media platforms.

The ideal candidate should be able to identify interesting stories, verify information, write clear and engaging English content, and adapt stories for different digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and curate relevant news and updates about Mysuru from credible sources.
• Write original news articles, feature stories, and informational content in English.
• Cover local developments, civic issues, business updates, food, lifestyle, tourism, culture, and events.
• Verify facts and information before publishing.
• Create compelling headlines, introductions, captions, and summaries.
• Adapt articles into engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
• Identify trending topics and develop original story ideas relevant to Mysuru.
• Manage content publishing and maintain consistency across digital platforms.
• Occasionally visit locations and take photographs to accompany articles when required.
• Coordinate with videographers for video shoots and interviews when necessary.
• Ensure all published content meets editorial standards for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and readability.

Requirements

• Excellent written English and strong grammar skills.
• 1–3 years of experience in digital media, content editing, journalism, content writing, or online publishing preferred.
• Strong research, fact-checking, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Understanding of digital news portals, online magazines, and social media content.
• Ability to identify interesting and relevant local stories.
• Familiarity with Mysuru and its local happenings is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of SEO and digital publishing is an added advantage.
• Basic photography skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
• A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field is preferred.
