This is a shift-based role with alternating weekly shifts:

Morning Shift (Monday to Friday)
6:00am – 2:30pm

Afternoon Shift
Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Friday: 12:30pm – 5:30pm

Role Overview

We are looking for a practical, detail-focused machine operator to join our production team. You will operate digital cutting equipment, prepare and set up jobs, check finished work and assist with print finishing. Experience in digital cutting is welcome, but we also encourage applications from CNC machine operators and setters in other manufacturing industries who are willing to learn our equipment and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor digital cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and follow job sheets, cutting files, and production specifications.
• Select or check appropriate settings, tooling and materials following training and approved procedures.
• Carry out first-off and ongoing quality checks for dimensions, finish and accuracy.
• Identify faults, report issues promptly and undertake routine cleaning and basic maintenance within training.
• Minimise material waste, rework and downtime through careful set-up and handling.
• Record production information accurately and support delivery targets.
• Assist with print finishing, material handling and other production duties as required.
• Maintain a clean, organised workspace and follow all health and safety procedures.

Skills and experience

Essential

• Practical experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, job specifications and safe working procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
• Good basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Reliability, a positive attitude and willingness to work alternating shifts.

Desirable

• Experience with digital flatbed cutters, CNC routers, CNC cutting or machine setting.
• Experience with printed fabric, rigid sheet materials, print finishing or quality inspection.
• Basic machine troubleshooting, maintenance or continuous improvement experience.
