About the Role

Plantsman Limited is seeking an experienced Web & Social Media Designer to join our team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and improving the company’s websites and digital presence, together with creating professional visual content for websites, online product catalogues and social-media platforms.

The role will involve a combination of website design, graphic design, digital-content creation, social-media design and ongoing website administration. The employee may also assist with website and digital-design services provided to external clients of the business.

Key Responsibilities

The Web & Social Media Designer will be responsible for:

* Designing and maintaining the company’s websites and web pages.

* Developing attractive, functional and user-friendly website layouts.

* Creating website page designs, banners, graphics, icons and other visual elements.

* Designing responsive website content suitable for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

* Creating and updating online product pages, product categories and digital catalogues.

* Preparing and uploading product images, descriptions, specifications and promotional material.

* Creating graphic-design material for websites, online promotions and social-media platforms.

* Designing social-media posts, promotional graphics, advertisements, banners and other digital content.

* Preparing visual content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and other relevant online channels.

* Maintaining consistency in company branding, colours, typography, imagery and visual presentation.

* Creating and editing photographs, images and digital assets for online publication.

* Developing website mock-ups, concepts and proposed layouts in accordance with business requirements.

* Updating website menus, navigation, page structures and online content.

* Reviewing existing websites and recommending improvements to design, usability and presentation.

* Monitoring website pages for broken links, display issues, outdated content and other problems.

* Working with content-management systems and appropriate web-design software.

* Maintaining and updating client websites where website services are provided by Plantsman Limited.

* Consulting with clients regarding website layouts, digital-content requirements and design preferences.

* Preparing website and social-media graphics for external clients.

* Implementing approved website and design changes requested by management or clients.

* Assisting with website and social-media integration.

* Coordinating website content with approved online promotions and digital campaigns.

* Reviewing website traffic, engagement and online activity to identify opportunities to improve content and presentation.

* Liaising with management, sales staff, technical staff and external service providers regarding website and digital-design requirements.

* Keeping up to date with developments in web design, graphic design, social-media content and relevant digital technologies.

* Undertaking other related web, graphic and digital-design duties reasonably associated with the position.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

* Experience in web design, graphic design and digital-content creation.

* Experience designing content for social-media platforms.

* Good knowledge of website layouts, navigation and responsive web design.

* Experience working with content-management systems and web-based platforms.

* Ability to create professional graphics, banners, advertisements and promotional material.

* Experience preparing images and other visual content for websites and social media.

* Understanding of online* product catalogues and e-commerce websites.

* Strong attention to detail and visual presentation.

* Good understanding of branding, typography, colour and layout.

* Ability to manage multiple website and digital-design projects.

* Good communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to work independently and complete work from concept through to final implementation.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

Applicants should have a relevant qualification in web design, graphic design, information technology, digital media, multimedia, visual communication or a related field, and/or relevant practical industry experience.

Applicants with five or more years of relevant experience in web design, graphic design, digital design, social-media design or related work are encouraged to apply.
