What they need

Port of Auckland is New Zealand’s largest import port and a critical gateway supporting the economic growth of Auckland and the wider region. Every day, our people work together to keep goods moving safely, efficiently, and sustainably, underpinned by strong customer partnerships and a commitment to excellence.

We are looking for a Digital Intern to support our ‘HomePort 2.0’ project by migrating content from POAL’s existing intranet into a new SharePoint environment. This is a hands-on role focused on accurately recreating pages, documents, links, and content using approved templates and standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE |Te tūranga mahi

Working from a structured content inventory, you will copy and recreate existing pages using approved templates, ensuring information is accurate, well-presented, and easy for our people to access.

While much of the work involves content migration, we're looking for someone who thinks critically and pays attention to detail. If something looks duplicated, outdated, incomplete, or doesn't make sense, you'll flag it and work with the project team to resolve it.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in digital projects, SharePoint, content management, and business systems while working alongside both internal stakeholders and an external implementation partner.

This is an initial 3-month fixed-term contract, expected to commence in September. The role will initially be approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 40 hours per week. The role may be extended beyond the initial term depending on project requirements and progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Copy and rebuild existing intranet pages into new SharePoint templates.
  • Transfer text, images, documents, links, and attachments accurately and consistently.
  • Apply the correct page layouts and content tagging requirements.
  • Work through a content inventory and maintain accurate progress tracking.
  • Flag duplicated, outdated, incomplete, or unclear content to the project team.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and implementation partners to resolve issues.
  • Complete quality checks to ensure content meets project standards and formatting requirements.
  • Support the successful rollout of HomePort 2.0 through accurate and timely content migration.

Please note: We encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible, as applications will be reviewed throughout the advertising period and the role may close earlier than the advertised closing date if a strong applicant pool is identified.
