Digital Marketing & WordPress Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile Digital Marketing & WordPress Developer who can manage both website development and day-to-day digital marketing activities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and maintaining WordPress websites, implementing SEO improvements, managing social media content, and supporting the online presence of multiple businesses and clients.

This role suits someone who is comfortable combining technical website work with creative and analytical digital marketing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development & Website Management

• Build, update and maintain responsive WordPress websites.
• Create and modify pages using WordPress page builders such as Elementor.
• Install, configure and manage WordPress themes and plugins.
• Make website content, layout and design updates based on client requirements.
• Troubleshoot common WordPress, plugin and website issues.
• Improve website speed, usability and mobile responsiveness.
• Implement basic HTML/CSS changes where required.
• Manage website backups, updates and basic security.
• Create landing pages and location/service pages for SEO campaigns.

SEO & Digital Marketing

• Perform on-page SEO optimisation for websites.
• Conduct keyword research for services, products and locations.
• Optimise page titles, meta descriptions, headings, content, images and internal links.
• Create and optimise local SEO/location pages.
• Work with Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
• Monitor website rankings, traffic and SEO performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve organic search visibility.
• Manage and optimise Google Business Profiles.
• Publish Google Business Profile posts and respond to customer reviews where required.
• Prepare simple monthly SEO and digital marketing performance reports.

Social Media & Content

• Manage business social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram.
• Plan and schedule regular social media posts.
• Write engaging captions and promotional content.
• Coordinate the creation of posters, promotional graphics and other marketing materials.
• Use tools such as Canva or similar platforms for basic graphic design.
• Maintain consistent branding across websites and social media channels.
• Support seasonal promotions, offers and marketing campaigns.

Required Skills

• Good practical experience with WordPress.
• Experience with Elementor or similar WordPress page builders.
• Understanding of HTML and CSS.
• Good knowledge of on-page SEO and local SEO.
• Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Business Profile.
• Understanding of keyword research and SEO content optimisation.
• Experience managing Facebook and Instagram business accounts.
• Basic graphic design skills using Canva or similar tools.
• Good written English and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage several client websites and tasks simultaneously.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

• WooCommerce
• Website hosting, domains and DNS
• cPanel or similar hosting platforms
• WordPress security and malware prevention
• Website performance optimisation
• Google Ads and Meta Ads
• Email marketing
• Photoshop or other graphic design tools
• AI tools for content, marketing and productivity
• Basic JavaScript/PHP knowledge

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and willing to learn. You should be comfortable working independently, communicating with the team about requirements, and taking responsibility for completing assigned website and marketing tasks.

The role requires a good balance of technical ability, creativity and attention to detail. You should also be comfortable working across different industries and adapting websites and marketing content to suit different clients.

Experience

Preferred: 1–3 years of practical experience in WordPress development, SEO or digital marketing.

Candidates with less commercial experience but a strong portfolio demonstrating WordPress, SEO and digital marketing skills may also be considered.
