Digital Pattern Grader (Optitex) – Contract

Peliah LLC is a Portland-based luxury apparel development and production company. We take garments from technical design through sampling and production for our brand clients.

The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Digital Pattern Grader to grade production patterns in Optitex on a contract, project-by-project basis. You'll work directly with our development team to turn approved sample patterns into accurate, production-ready size runs.

Responsibilities

• Grade approved patterns across full size ranges in Optitex PDS
• Create, apply, and adjust grade rules based on Peliah and client size specifications
• Walk seams and verify notches, grain lines, and piece alignment across all sizes
• Make corrections based on fit comments and spec changes
• Deliver clean, organized, production-ready files and markers on schedule
• Communicate clearly about timelines, questions, and pattern issues

Requirements

• Proficiency in Optitex PDS (required)
• Strong working knowledge of pattern making and grading principles
• Ability to read and work from tech packs and size specs
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
• Portfolio or examples of graded work

Nice to Have

• Marker making experience in Optitex
• Experience with knits and wovens
• Background in luxury, premium, or small-batch apparel
• Formal training in apparel design or technical design

Compensation & Schedule

• $30–$45 per hour, or per-style rates by complexity, depending on experience
• Flexible hours, project-based workload
• Primarily remote, with occasional on-site meetings in Portland
• Independent contractor (1099)
