What they need

About us:

HDI is a Corporate & Specialty Insurer part of the Talanx Group. With over 120 years of experience, HDI operates across five continents, around 40 countries and employs over 5,000 people worldwide.

The role:

Working within the Transformation function, you will collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Technology teams and stakeholders from across the business to analyse and improve end-to-end workflow processes.

You will help identify inefficiencies, duplication and bottlenecks before designing practical digital solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen controls and create a better experience for users. As your technical capability develops, you will use Power Apps and other approved low-code tools to build applications, automate workflows and support wider transformation initiatives.

The role combines process improvement, stakeholder engagement and digital solution development.

Key accountabilities:

  • Analyse end-to-end insurance processes and identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation and automation.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and define future-state processes.
  • Translate business requirements and process improvement opportunities into practical digital solutions.
  • Develop applications and automated workflows using Power Apps and other approved low-code platforms.
  • Configure business rules, process logic and user interfaces to support business operations.
  • Help reduce manual processing, duplication and operational bottlenecks.
  • Support workflow orchestration and process integration across different business systems.
  • Document process, functional and integration requirements.
  • Participate in discovery workshops, requirements-gathering sessions and solution demonstrations.
  • Work closely with Technology teams to ensure solutions align with architectural, security and operational standards.
  • Support testing, User Acceptance Testing, implementation, defect management and post-launch activity.
  • Measure the effectiveness of process improvements and identify opportunities for further optimisation.
  • Maintain appropriate technical documentation, governance records and audit evidence.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, consultants and developers involved in transformation projects.

Skills & experience:

We are looking for someone who can combine an understanding of insurance operations with a structured, analytical approach to process improvement.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience working within the insurance industry, with an understanding of insurance processes and operating environments.
  • A background in process improvement, continuous improvement, business analysis, workflow improvement or operational transformation.
  • Experience analysing current processes and identifying inefficiencies, risks, duplication and automation opportunities.
  • The ability to understand business problems and translate them into clear process or solution requirements.
  • An interest in technology and the aptitude to learn Power Apps, workflow automation and other low-code tools. Prior development experience is desirable, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work across business and technical teams.
  • Experience contributing to projects or change initiatives.
  • A good understanding of process mapping, process design and continuous improvement principles.
  • A structured approach to documentation, testing, governance and quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and experiment with new technology.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Power Platform, workflow automation tools, APIs, process mining or Lean methodologies would be beneficial, but we are also interested in candidates who can demonstrate the capability and motivation to develop these skills.
