What they need
Job Summary
Miles Perret (MP) is seeking a creative, tech-savvy, special projects manager to help MP create engaging digital experiences. A major responsibility will be supporting and eventually managing the virtual Games of Acadiana scavenger hunt—from developing creative missions to configuring the game platform, troubleshooting technology, and managing the participant experience. The position will also provide support for other MP events and initiatives, with an emphasis on technology integration. This role plays a key part in bringing the MP mission to life by creating meaningful, engaging experiences for participants, donors, and the families we serve.
The Digital Projects Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with each member of the Advancement Team.
Responsibilities
- Games of Acadiana Virtual Scavenger Hunt: Learn the entire virtual-game process and eventually manage game setup and day-to-day operation; develop original missions, trivia, puzzles, challenges, notifications, and participant communications; enter and organize missions in the scavenger-hunt platform; test missions before launch; monitor submissions and troubleshoot participant issues; help manage scoring, prizes, sponsor missions, and other game components. Brainstorm new activities and interactive experiences; take a theme, like Music Through the Ages, and generate ideas from it; write instructions that are clear, entertaining, and difficult to misinterpret; continually look for ways to make GOA more fun and easier to operate.
- Other MP Events: Support other major MP events, including Camellia Crossing, with an emphasis on technology integration, digital platforms, participant communications, registration systems, and other technology-based needs.
- Platforms, Event Webpages, databases, & e-commerce: Create and update event pages, forms, links, graphics, and other online content; maintain online raffle platform and manage raffle sales; research and implement digital communication solutions including text messaging platforms and CRM platforms; establish and maintain Shopify or similar e-commerce tools; test registrations, purchases, forms, confirmation messages, and other user flows.
- Technology & problem solving: Research software and digital tools; compare options and recommend solutions; learn unfamiliar platforms without requiring extensive instruction; troubleshoot routine technology problems; identify opportunities to automate or simplify repetitive processes; document processes so they aren't dependent on one person's knowledge.
- Other digital projects: Assist with online raffles, registrations, surveys, fundraising campaigns, email tools, QR codes, databases, and other technology-based MP projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Flexibility to work additional or non-traditional hours during major events.
Skills
- Strong creative thinking skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with particular attention to writing instructions that are easy to understand.
- Highly comfortable with technology and able to quickly learn new software, platforms, and digital tools independently.
- Natural problem-solver who enjoys researching solutions, testing options, and figuring out how things work.
- Experience working with content management systems, e-commerce platforms, event software, websites, CRM platforms, databases, or similar digital tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage many moving pieces, deadlines, and details simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to thoroughly test digital experiences before they are launched.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and move a project forward without needing step-by-step direction.
- Comfortable troubleshooting problems and remaining calm when technology doesn't work as expected.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and event participants.
