What they need
About the role
Act as the Product Owner for the SCM Digital Solutions portfolio, holding end-to-end accountability for product direction: define and prioritize requirements, and continuously refine the product roadmap so every solution delivers maximum business value and return to the company. Lead the SCM Digital Solutions function overall — set digital strategy, govern the project, solution, and reporting portfolio, and develop the team. Coordinate closely with the IT team and software vendors, supported by an internal PMO. Responsibilities are exercised at a governance and accountability level — the position governs and approves key decisions on product direction and requirements, while the working team carries out detailed execution to agreed standards and timelines.
Key responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Development
Define team roles, resource plans, and priorities; set KPIs/OKRs, monitor performance, give feedback, and resolve blockers.
Coach and mentor the team; close skill gaps through development plans, career growth, and knowledge sharing.
Strategy & Product Direction
Communicate company and digital strategy with product/technology roadmaps; align team goals with organizational objectives.
Set product vision and solution direction; review and challenge solution concepts, functional design, and user flows for alignment with the vision.
Delivery & Portfolio Governance
Own backlog priorities, the intake/feasibility process for business unit requests, and go/no-go release decisions; hold the team accountable for SIT/UAT sign-off, deployment readiness, and post-go-live hypercare.
Oversee portfolio progress and risks; resolve cross-project and cross-functional issues.
Governance, Standards & Compliance
Define team standards, processes, and SOPs; own the incident and defect framework (triage, severity, IT resolution SLAs, escalation) and keep user manuals and training materials current.
Govern master data quality, oversee PDPA and software license compliance, audit support, and business continuity procedures aligned with IT disaster recovery.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee BI deliverables (dashboards, reports, analytics) with sound reporting standards and business alignment; drive automation, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with the IT team and software vendors on solution scope and delivery; oversee the internal PMO (user issue logs, coordination with IT teams across platforms); liaise with business units, Finance, and executives.
Contract, Budget & Payment Management
Review contract terms (scope, term, pricing, payment terms, deliverables, acceptance criteria, SLAs/penalties); govern and approve renewals per approval authority with IT, Legal, and Procurement, and issue termination notices within the contractual notice period.
Track budget vs. plan and actual; verify availability before expense approval, prepare forecasts, and request supplementary budget when necessary.
Verify vendor invoices against budget and contract; coordinate directly with Finance/AP and monitor payment status and schedules; oversee vendor SLA scorecards, business reviews, and service-issue escalation.
Executive Reporting & Benefits Realization
- Report portfolio status, risks, and mitigation plans to executives, including delivered value against business case/ROI after each rollout.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical familiarity with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), WMS/TMS, and BI Tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) — sufficient to communicate effectively with IT and vendors (hands-on use not required).
Strong stakeholder management skills with senior executives.
Vendor negotiation and contract management skills.
Strategic thinking and sound decision-making ability.
Other Requirements
Fluent English, able to negotiate and communicate with international parties or executives.
Certifications such as PMP, CSCP, or ITIL are a plus but not mandatory.
Willingness to travel occasionally to visit branch offices or warehouses.
