Digital Solutions Engineer

Job Summary

The Digital Solutions Engineer III is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of assigned production modules, ensuring application reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence throughout the application lifecycle. The role independently performs module-level design, development, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities while supporting cloud-native and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Module Ownership

• Own assigned production applications or modules and their complete lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
• Perform full-scope software development activities independently, including module design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, maintainability, and security of owned applications.
• Design and implement permanent solutions to recurring technical issues and system deficiencies.

DevOps & Release Engineering

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
• Author, manage, and continuously improve release, rollback, recovery, and deployment procedures.
• Manage application deployment activities across development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Maintain container images, image registries, and release artifacts in accordance with engineering standards.
• Support modern DevOps practices and automation initiatives to improve development velocity and operational reliability.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Support cloud-native application development and deployment across Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Manage and troubleshoot cloud-hosted workloads and services.
• Implement and maintain caching technologies, message queues, and distributed application components.
• Contribute to infrastructure reliability, scalability, and performance optimization initiatives.

Observability, Reliability & Incident Resolution

• Monitor application and infrastructure health through dashboards, logging, tracing, and observability platforms.
• Analyze monitoring data and proactively initiate preventive and corrective actions.
• Investigate production issues and conduct root cause analysis to determine permanent resolutions.
• Establish and execute backup validation, restore testing, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
• Demonstrate measurable improvements in application reliability, performance, or operational efficiency.

Security & Engineering Standards

• Implement secure authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth2, JWT, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Follow secure development and deployment practices while ensuring compliance with established security standards.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design reviews.
• Ensure proper secrets management and credential protection across application environments.

Data & Integration

• Optimize database performance through query analysis, query-plan reviews, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
• Design and support integrations with internal and external systems using APIs, messaging platforms, and data services.
• Implement and maintain event-driven architectures using messaging technologies where applicable.

Knowledge Sharing & AI Enablement

• Share technical knowledge and best practices through team sessions, documentation, and mentoring.
• Leverage approved AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, software quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure compliance with organizational data-handling and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. [2026_DBS_P...ers_EDITED | Excel]
• Has 3 to 5 years of experience in Application Development, Software Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or IT Support.
• Proven experience managing or owning production applications, services, or modules.
• Experience supporting operational workstreams and contributing to project delivery initiatives.
• Demonstrated success implementing performance, reliability, or automation improvements
