Dim Sum Chef

RESPONSIBILITIES: ‍

• Prepare and produce a wide variety of vegetarian dim sum, including steamed, baked, fried and specialty items.
• Develop new vegetarian dim sum recipes and seasonal creations.
• Ensure consistent taste, texture, presentation and portion control.
• Prepare dim sum fillings, wrappers, sauces and condiments from scratch where required.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and food safety.
• Manage daily dim sum production and ensure all items are prepared according to business requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organisation of the dim sum section.

REQUIREMENT: ‍

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Dim Sum Chef or Dim Sum Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese dim sum preparation and cooking techniques.
• Experience in vegetarian dim sum is an added advantage.
• Able to develop creative vegetarian alternatives without compromising taste and quality.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, safety and kitchen practices.
• Able to work independently and manage the dim sum section effectively.
• Good teamwork, discipline and communication skills.
• Candidates with experience in hotels, restaurants or high-volume Chinese cuisine operations are preferred.
