Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to support their independence and comfort
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
• Support residents with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and safety protocols
• Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive disabilities through personalized engagement and behavior management strategies
• Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
• Follow resident’s rights policies to ensure respectful treatment and uphold dignity at all times

Experience

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, memory care techniques, and geriatrics best practices
• Hands-on experience with vital signs measurement, medication administration, and safe patient lifting practices
• Background in home & community care or long-term care environments that involve caregiving for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
• Familiarity with group home settings or retirement communities enhances your ability to adapt quickly and provide exceptional support
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in behavior management or Alzheimer’s care is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively while maintaining safety standards
