Direct Care Worker

In this vital role, you will provide at 40 to 84 hours/ week assistance with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure safety and well-being for residents across various care settings. Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
• Support medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and medical guidelines
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs to ensure proper nourishment
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism, or other disabilities
• Operate assistive devices including Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs safely while adhering to safety protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and update resident care plans regularly
• Support residents’ behavioral management and conflict resolution through compassionate communication and behavior management techniques

Requirements

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and basic patient care procedures
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
• Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities related to resident transportation if required
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills for effective social work, case management, and conflict management
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or age-related conditions
