Direct Care Worker/Caregiver day shift FT/PT

Overview

We are hiring for 1 Full-Time day shift positions 7am-7:30pm 3 days per week

and 1 Part-Time position: 28 hours per week. 3:30pm - 7:30pm Monday - Thursday and 7am - 7:30pm every other weekend.

As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. Your compassionate nature and dedication will empower those you assist, whether they are seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer's or dementia support. You will be the backbone of their daily routines, providing essential assistance and fostering a nurturing environment.

What you’ll do

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
• Administer medications as per care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes in health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Implement behavior management strategies to support clients with dementia or other behavioral challenges.
• Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic living environment for clients.

Basic qualifications

• Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and assist clients with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience in caregiving is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices is a plus.
• Strong conflict management skills to effectively handle challenging situations.
