Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other health conditions. Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts or residents as needed
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Administer medication and follow care plans established by healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met in group homes or home settings
• Support clients during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence
• Respond promptly to emergencies with appropriate first aid or CPR if required, following established protocols for hospice, memory care, or dementia-related situations

Skills

• Proven experience in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
• Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, patient monitoring, and medication administration
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and supporting residents’ social needs
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility tasks using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
• Compassionate attitude combined with patience when working with vulnerable populations in various settings

Pay: $18.00 per hour
