Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with daily living activities, personal goals, and community engagement. DSPs provide hands-on care while promoting dignity, independence, choice, and safety in accordance with Illinois Rule 115 and HCBS standards.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Support individuals with meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a clean living environment
• Administer or assist with medications as trained and authorized
• Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and follow Implementation Strategies
• Support individuals in the community (appointments, shopping, recreation, employment, etc.)
• Document daily progress notes, shift notes, and incident reports accurately and timely
• Maintain health, safety, and supervision of individuals at all times
• Respect and protect individual rights, privacy, and confidentiality
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, QIDP, team members, and families/guardians
• Respond appropriately to emergencies following agency protocols

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred)
• Ability to pass:
• Criminal background check
• Fingerprint-based background check (as required)
• Compassionate, patient, reliable, and professional demeanor

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required — we will train the right candidate!

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
