Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team on a part-time basis. The DSP will provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them participate in meaningful activities, develop independence, and remain active in their community.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, is comfortable working in community-based settings, and is looking for a consistent part-time schedule with the possibility of additional hours in the future.

Schedule

3 days per week, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM

Additional hours and/or days may become available based on program needs, staffing, and employee availability.

Pay & Benefits

Starting Pay: $16.50 per hour

This is a part-time position and does not currently include benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Assist individuals with participating in community activities and outings
• Encourage independence, choice, appropriate social interaction, and community involvement
• Provide transportation to and from scheduled community activities as required
• Safely transport individuals using a personal vehicle when required
• Follow each individual’s service plan and identified support needs
• Complete required daily documentation and progress notes accurately and on time
• Maintain professional and appropriate communication with individuals, families, coworkers, and supervisors
• Follow agency policies, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulations
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings
• Assist with other program needs as assigned

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Ability and willingness to use a personal vehicle to transport individuals in the community
• Current automobile insurance
• Current vehicle registration
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and employment screenings
• Dependable and able to consistently work 3 days per week from 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
• Ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time
• Patient, compassionate, and comfortable supporting individuals with varying needs

Previous experience as a DSP or in caregiving, behavioral health, human services, or services for individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Qualified applicants who meet the required qualifications and are willing to learn are also encouraged to apply.
