North Star Achievement Center isn't a traditional day program. We are an educational and community-based learning center where adults with disabilities develop life skills, employment skills, independence, confidence, and meaningful relationships.

We're looking for compassionate, energetic people who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and encouraging others. Every day you'll help people learn—not simply care for them.

What You’ll Do

• Teach and reinforce life skills, communication, social, vocational, and community skills.
• Encourage independence while providing individualized support.
• Help people participate in educational classes, volunteer experiences, employment training, and community activities.
• Celebrate progress and help people achieve meaningful personal goals.
• Assist with personal care only when needed, always promoting dignity and independence.
• Maintain accurate documentation of progress and daily activities.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development.

What We’re Looking For

• A passion for supporting people in building independence
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Reliability, patience, and a sense of humor
• Ability to follow individualized plans and work well both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to help across program areas

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Driver’s license, car insurance, and registration (for community outings)
• CPR/First Aid (training provided if needed)
• Successful background check and multi-panel drug test

Job Details

• Full-time or Part-time
• Pay: $31,000–$34,000 annually, based on experience and education
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift
