Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Support clients with medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain health and safety.
• Implement individualized care plans by providing patient care, dementia and Alzheimer's care, memory care, and supporting residents with neuro-developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Help clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs while encouraging healthy eating habits.
• Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to safely assist with mobility and transfers.
• Conduct patient observation, monitor behavior, and report changes or concerns promptly to the healthcare team.
• Maintain a clean environment by performing light cleaning duties in client living spaces and common areas to promote hygiene and safety.
• Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe travel for clients.
• Support residents’ rights by respecting privacy, promoting independence, and fostering a respectful atmosphere aligned with care standards.
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and assist in updating care plans regularly.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic first aid/CPR certification is essential.
• Experience working with individuals with autism, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
• Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment is desirable.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents’ rights.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility using proper patient transfer techniques.
• Compassionate caregiving attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and attention to detail.
• Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are required; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is expected.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
