Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities or other support needs. This position involves providing one-to-one support, assistance with daily living activities, fostering independence, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. The DSP will work closely with clients in various settings.

Duties

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, meal preparation, and basic household tasks.
• Provide personal care and support to individuals in accordance with their care plans, including transportation with your own vehicle.
• Support social, communication, and independent living skills while encouraging independence and inclusion.
• Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Experience

• Previous experience providing direct support to children and adults with disabilities is preferred.
• Experience working in home, school, and community-based settings is a plus.
• A background in social work or related fields can enhance the effectiveness of support provided to clients.
• Must demonstrate compassion, patience, dependability, and communication skills when supporting individuals.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
