Direct Support Professional

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. This role involves providing personalized support, fostering independence, and ensuring safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a positive environment that promotes growth and quality of life for those served.

Duties

• Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support participation in community activities, outings, and recreational events.
• Monitor and ensure the safety of individuals at all times, responding promptly to any emergencies.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote independence and self-esteem.
• Administer first aid and CPR when necessary, following proper safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members, family members, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive environment that respects the dignity of each individual served.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude are essential.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Reliable, patient, and adaptable with a genuine desire to support others’ growth and independence.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
