Duties

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes, and reporting findings to healthcare teams
• Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans under supervision
• Prepare nutritious meals, assist with meal planning, and ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices
• Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling tools to ensure safe mobility
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
• Provide transportation assistance for appointments, outings, or community activities while ensuring resident safety

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous
• Ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic first aid including CPR certification
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, resident’s rights, care plans, and documentation procedures is essential
• Experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment required for safe mobility support
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork in a caregiving setting
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks as needed for patient transfers or assistance
