Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly.
• Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safe and accurate delivery of treatments.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to promote healthy eating habits tailored to individual dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring compliance with health standards.
• Provide transportation assistance for appointments, community outings, or errands using personal transportation or agency vehicles.
• Engage residents through meaningful communication, recreational activities, and companionship to foster social interaction and emotional well-being.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or dementia care experience is highly valued.
• Knowledge of patient care techniques including patient monitoring, first aid, CPR certification, and understanding of care plans.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient transfer methods safely while adhering to manual handling protocols.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Experience working in settings such as nursing homes, hospice care, home health services or senior care is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information.
• Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications like Hoyer lift training or medication administration are advantageous.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
