Our DSPs work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them develop everyday skills, participate in their communities, accomplish personal goals, and increase their overall independence. At ARISE Mentors, we provide more than care. We mentor, encourage, teach, and help people grow into their most independent selves.

We’re looking for an encouraging, driven person to provide support and guidance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Utilizing a leadership model, we demonstrate and coach individuals through many of life’s skills and tasks. Our goal isn't to do everything for someone. It's to help them gain the skills and confidence to do more for themselves.

General Roles & Responsibilities:

• Uphold Client confidentiality standards
• Skills training on Activities of Daily Living such as budgeting, cleaning, etc.
• Daily assisting with personal care
• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical appointments
• Assisting individuals in attending/participating in community events
• Community outings
• Creating a positive and safe environment
• Encouraging and Leading towards Independence!
• Maintenance cleaning
• Budgeting/Computer research

Qualifications:

• Personal Vehicle & Insurance & First aid kit in car (willing to use for work)
• Valid Drivers License
• Strong communication skills
• Willing to assist/perform basic housekeeping duties such as cooking, laundry, dishes, etc.
• Tech savvy
• Ability to understand and master proprietary documentation program
• Able to pass background check.
• One year of caregiving experience is preferred, but we encourage candidates with transferable skills and the right attitude to apply.

Pay Range

Starting at $21 depending on experience, training and growth within the company.

We provide Paid Training which consists of three in-person training segments paired with 14 hours of state mandated Workday online trainings. One day training on our systems (approx. 6 hours) and two days of on-the-job DSP training at a client's house (approx. 10-12 hours). All Workday trainings are done in our office between 8am and 3pm.

This position does involve intermittent driving, therefore a Current & Valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance & a Reliable Vehicle with first aid kit are required to perform job duties & assignments.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check with current ID (such as a Drivers License, Passport or Social Security Card)
