Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and age-related conditions. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents with meal consumption when necessary.
• Support residents during community outings or transportation using personal transportation assistance methods, ensuring safety at all times.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and shared spaces regularly.
• Document care activities meticulously in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards, including resident progress notes and incident reports.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and caring for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is advantageous.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in medication administration and patient monitoring is a plus.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks such as patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, team members, and healthcare providers while respecting residents’ rights.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to provide consistent support.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week
