What they need

Job Overview

Community Living of Idaho is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with developmental disabilities in living safe, meaningful, and independent lives within their homes and communities.

Direct Support Professionals provide individualized assistance based on each participant's needs, abilities, choices, and goals. Responsibilities may include assisting with daily living activities, personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, medication assistance, transportation, community activities, appointments, and implementation of each participant's Individual Support Plan. DSPs also provide encouragement and guidance to help participants develop and maintain independence, build relationships, make informed choices, and participate in activities that are important to them.

DSPs are responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment, completing required documentation accurately and on time, communicating effectively with participants and members of the support team, and following Community Living of Idaho policies and applicable Medicaid and state requirements.

No two days are exactly the same. This position is a good fit for someone who is patient, reliable, respectful, and enjoys working directly with people. The goal isn't to do everything for the individuals we support—it's to provide the assistance they need while encouraging them to exercise choice, develop skills, and live as independently as possible.
