Direct Support Professional

Duties

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor residents’ health by observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
• Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
• Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management to promote healthy living
• Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with manual handling for safe patient movement
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and adherence to resident rights and care plans
• Provide transportation assistance for appointments, outings, or community activities while ensuring safety protocols are followed

Qualifications

• Ability to perform patient monitoring, medication administration, and basic first aid including CPR certifications preferred
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is desirable but not required
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and resident’s rights to ensure confidentiality and respectful treatment
• Capable of heavy lifting and assisting with patient transfer methods safely using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling skills
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration in a caregiving setting

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
