Direct Support Professional

Helpin Hands LLC is currently seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, and committed to helping individuals live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, choice, and community involvement.

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Additional hours may be available based on company needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene.
• Administer medications in accordance with DODD guidelines.
• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping duties.
• Transport individuals to appointments, outings, and community activities.
• Complete daily documentation and required reports accurately and on time.
• Encourage independence and community participation.
• Follow Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families when appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for the individuals served.

Minimum Requirements

No exceptions:

• Current Medication Administration Certification (Med Cert 1)
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Current automobile insurance
• Ability to pass all required background checks and meet DODD employment requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
