Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. Duties

As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Providing medication administration as prescribed and ensuring compliance with health care plans.
• Supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with autism or dementia, by implementing personalized care plans.
• Engaging clients in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement and skill development.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards.
• Assisting with heavy lifting when necessary to support clients in mobility or physical tasks.
• Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.
• Must have valid driver's license and a vehicle. Must agree to use your vehicle to take the client out into the community. Mileage is reimbursed for this.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home health care or working within group homes is preferred.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and best practices in client care.
• Experience working with individuals who have disabilities or special needs, particularly those with autism or dementia.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
• A commitment to providing compassionate care while respecting the dignity of each individual served.
