Position Summary

At Allegheny Community Home Care (ACHC), our Direct Support Professionals empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live with independence, dignity, and purpose. As a DSP, you'll provide compassionate, person-centered support while helping individuals achieve their goals and actively participate in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Daily Support

• Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration (when certified), mobility, and daily living activities.
• Promote independence, choice, and self-advocacy.

Support Individual Goals

• Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).
• Encourage skill development and meaningful community participation.

❤️ Promote Health & Safety

• Monitor and report changes in health or behavior.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.

Documentation & Communication

• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Follow ACHC policies, ODP regulations, and HIPAA guidelines
• ✅ Qualifications
  High School Diploma or GED
  Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  Ability to pass required background checks
  • ️ Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration certificationsExperience supporting individuals with IDD is preferred but not required.

    Physical Requirements
    Ability to lift, assist, stand, walk, bend, and perform household tasks.
    Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
