Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
• Support medication administration and manage care plans tailored to each individual’s needs, including dementia and memory care protocols.
• Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques safely to prevent injury during mobility assistance.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to promote healthy eating habits aligned with dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met consistently.
• Provide transportation assistance for appointments, outings, or community activities, fostering social engagement and independence.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of medical emergencies such as distress or behavioral changes.
• Knowledge of care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other neurodevelopmental disabilities is advantageous.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in hospice care or geriatrics is a plus.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper manual handling techniques; physical stamina for long shifts is essential.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and respectful client communication at all times.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members while supporting resident rights and fostering trust.
