Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, patient monitoring, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
• Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
• Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management while maintaining cleanliness standards
• Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe movement
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
• Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a respectful environment that upholds residents’ rights

Skills

• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or dementia care such as Alzheimer’s or memory care is highly valued
• Knowledge of assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home health environments enhances your ability to deliver quality support
• Strong patient observation skills and the ability to respond promptly to changing conditions or emergencies
• Proficiency in patient transfer methods, manual handling, CPR, first aid, and first aid certification ensures readiness for emergencies
• Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities supports tailored care approaches
• Ability to prepare nutritious meals safely and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary needs
• Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting resident’s rights
