Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide personalized one on one care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will support clients in their daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life. You will help them with housekeeping, cooking, shopping, appointments and fun activities of their choice. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and a strong commitment to fostering a safe, supportive environment. Duties

• Assist clients with personal transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Provide home care support, including housekeeping, meal prepping, cooking, and shopping to ensure a clean and comfortable living environment.
• Support individuals with daily living tasks such as grooming, dressing, and other personal needs.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and facilitate communication with healthcare providers.
• Encourage participation in recreational activities and community engagement to promote social inclusion.
• Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and needs to ensure personalized care plans are followed.
• Foster a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and promoting positive behavior strategies.

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to assist with personal transportation and navigate community resources effectively.
• Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding.
• Ability to perform household chores such as cleaning, shopping, cooking, and meal prepping efficiently.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23.0 per week
