Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are a newly established home preparing to welcome our second resident, and we are excited to continue building our team. This position is ideal for someone who is already working in a caregiving or healthcare role and is interested in picking up additional weekend and PRN hours. There is a high likelihood of working into a part-time and full-time role if wanted. We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs including developmental disabilities and other health conditions. In this vital role, you will foster independence, promote well-being, and enhance quality of life through personalized assistance and engaging activities. Duties

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly.
• Provide medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning personal spaces, common areas, and medical equipment.
• Support residents’ participation in social activities, community outings, and therapeutic programs to foster engagement and independence.
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies to ensure seamless communication among team members.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is preferred but not required..
• Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed care plans and document observations accurately.
