Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs.
• Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
• Support individuals with memory care needs through engaging activities and routines.
• Perform heavy lifting as necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect the privacy and confidentiality of client information.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

• Previous experience in patient care, assisted living, or senior care is preferred.
• Knowledge of direct support practices and familiarity with care plans is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
• Understanding of medication administration protocols is a plus.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all clients.
