Location: Lyndeborough, NH, with travel to Milford and Nashua, NH

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual with cerebral palsy in their daily life. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, promoting independence, and helping others participate in their community.

The position involves providing personal care, supporting daily living activities, participating in community outings, and engaging in literacy and other meaningful activities. The goal is to provide individualized support that encourages independence, personal growth, community involvement, and an enjoyable quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with personal care and activities of daily living while maintaining the individual's dignity, comfort, privacy, and independence.
• Community Outings: Support and accompany the individual on outings to the gym, library, grocery stores, shopping centers, and other community locations.
• Leisure and Recreation: Encourage participation in enjoyable activities, hobbies, and social opportunities based on the individual's interests.
• Literacy and Learning: Complete literacy activities with the individual, including reading, writing, and other activities that support communication and continued learning.
• Daily Living Support: Provide assistance with everyday routines, decision-making, and tasks while encouraging independence and self-expression.
• Community Inclusion: Help the individual access community resources, develop skills, and participate in meaningful experiences outside the home.
• Companionship and Engagement: Build a positive, respectful relationship while providing encouragement, consistency, and companionship.
• Safety and Well-Being: Maintain a safe and supportive environment, follow individualized care and support plans, and communicate any concerns appropriately.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, reliable, and respectful.
• Comfortable providing personal care and supporting an individual with physical disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in community outings and engaging activities.
• Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to community activities, as required.
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, personal care, or disability services is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn the individual's routines, preferences, and support needs.

Work Location

The primary location is in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, with regular community outings and activities in Milford and Nashua, New Hampshire.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
