Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Duties

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), during program hours if needed.
• Prepare meals that the individuals bring each day and assist with eating if needed.
• Support individuals during community outings to promote engagement, independence, and safety
• Operate specialized equipment such as wheelchairs safely during transfers and mobility assistance
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including tidying classroom areas and shared spaces
• Transport individuals when going on community outings
• Daily hours are 8:00am-4:00pm

Requirements

• Prior experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred.
• Knowledge of individual observation techniques and working with individuals with autism or disabilities
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA training preferred; not required
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks required for individual transfers and caregiving duties
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and support individuals’ individual care plans
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
• Reliable transportation
• An active driver's license - Morning and afternoon transportation of individuals is included in daily hours.

Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
