Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Assist individual as needed with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Teach and assist individual with preparing meals, grocery shopping, making health choices
• Assist individual with keeping a clean, safe, and organized environment by teaching and assisting with light cleaning duties
• Document progress of goals and activities daily
• Engage individual in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization

Requirements

• Prior experience individuals to promote a meaningful life in their community
• Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; but can be provided
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
• Patience, compassion, excellent observation skills for individuals safety
