Job Summary

Duties

• Transporting clients into the community in personal vehicles.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
• Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect privacy.
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to care plans.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
• Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, and community engagement to promote well-being and independence.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met.
• Document all interactions, observations, and care provided thoroughly in accordance with facility policies and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential.
• Experience working with individuals with autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s care), intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling or Hoyer lifts is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate methods.
• Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards related to patient care.
• Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to support residents’ physical and emotional needs.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27.0 per week
